MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020711 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated ice cubes preparation device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Vikesh Kashyap; Palak Kataria; and Depender Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ice cubes preparation device comprises of a rectangular frame 1 attached with plurality of rods 2 for providing support to the frame 1 on a fixed surface and frame 1 mounted with a flexible cuboidal body 3 carved with multiple sections that are to be filled with water for preparing ice cubes, a microphone 4 to give voice commands for preparing the ice cubes from the water, multiple Peltier units 5 for freezing the water to prepare the ice cubes, a temperature for detecting temperature of surroundings to determine a time duration for preparation of the ice cubes and determine, a tactile sensor mounted in each of the sections for detecting hardness of the ice cubes, and a pair of motorized ball and socket joints 6 arranged between the frame 1 and body 3 for flipping the body 3 to allow removal of ice cubes from sections."
