MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020768 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated landslide protection system for mountain roads.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated landslide protection system for mountain roads, comprises of a platform 1 developed to be installed on shoulder portion of mountain road, multiple telescopically operated rods 2 is installed on the platform 1 to form a barrier on shoulder portion of the road, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the rods 2 to monitor mass movement of materials down a slope of the mountain, multiple telescopically operated bars 5 arranged on base portion of each of the rods 2 for providing support to the rod, a speaker is mounted on the rods 2 to produce audio notification regarding halting of vehicles and people and a GPS (Global Positioning System) module is synced with the microcontroller for fetching location coordinates of the landslide affected area."
