MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020710 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated landslide rescue device for snowy areas.'
Inventor(s) include Sanjeev Sharma; Narinder Kumar; Sukhnik Singh; and Yashpreet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated landslide rescue device for snowy areas comprises a body 1 integrated with GPS module for fetching location, a pair of motorized caterpillar track wheels 2 for moving the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the body 1 to determine deposition of snow, a hydraulically operated L-shaped rod 4 for orienting a curved plate 5, plurality of extendable wedges 6 integrated at the curved plate 5 to get extended, a motorized hinge joint 7 integrated between the rod 4 and plate 5 providing scooping movement, a tactile sensor for monitoring hardness of snow, a robotic arm 8 for orienting a motorized drilling unit 9, a sensing module integrated on the arm 8 for monitoring presence of living beings, a conveyer belt 10 arranged in the body 1 for translating snow, and a motorized rotatable blade 11 installed at the body 1 for crushing snow."
