MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026125 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated leaf-vegetable harvesting and packing device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Seema Rani; Mannat Bains; Manveer Kaur; and Naina Jariyal.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated leaf-vegetable harvesting and packing device, comprises a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface of an agricultural field, multiple wheels 2 to move platform 1 over surface to position platform 1 in proximity to a crop yield of a leaf vegetable, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines height of yield, multiple telescopically operated positions platform 1 in proximity to yield, multiple robotic grippers 5 grips of yield from evaluated portion, an elongated motorized cutter 6 by means of a hydraulic actuator 7 cuts yield from beneath gripped portion, a conveyer belt 8 positions cut yield on a plate 9, a motorized clamp 10 grabs cut yield, a motorized slider 11 positions grabbed yield towards a tying unit 12 for forming a bundle of yield, a cuboidal shaped body enables a pair of robotic arms accommodates bundle in body, and multiple electronically operated nozzles 13 dispenses water on body, on bundles of yield for washing bundles."
