MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127072 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'automated metal pipe cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Ramica Sharma; Vaishali Sharma; Muskan Devi; and Arvind Chauhan.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metal pipe cutting device comprises of a platform 101 configured with plurality of omnidirectional wheels 102 to be maneuvered over a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 103 to input specifications, a vertical rod 104 configured with a C-shaped motorized clamp 105 to secure grip base portion of metal pipe, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 106 for capturing and processing images of clamp 105, a circular member 107 by means of a telescopic bar 108 upon detection of pipe, a motorized slider 109 to provide translation motion to bar 108, a motorized expandable pulley to expand/contract member 107, slider 109 to further provide translation motion to member 107 towards pipe and inserting pipe within member 107, a chamber 111 stored with water, a pump to pressurize and supply water to high-pressure water jet 110 via a conduit 112 attached with the nozzle."
