MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019295 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated metallic components dismantling device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic components dismantling device includes a body 1 positioned on ground and arranged with a platform 2 accessed by a user for accommodating a metallic component to be dismantled, an imaging-unit 3 determines dimensions of component and identifies presence of any inflatable or cushioned layer integrated on component, in case layer is detected, an arm 4 integrated with a blade 5 extend/retract for directing blade 5 to puncture or cut layer to detach layer from component, multiple sharp edges sections 6 arranged on outer periphery of body 1 and integrated with multiple hinge joints 7 that converge/diverge edges of sections 6 to apply a force on periphery of accommodated component to initiate crushing of component, multiple bars 8 assembled on edges of sections 6, each integrated with a sharp wedge 9, extend/retract for positioning wedge 9 over component to apply crushing force on component to properly dismantle component."
