MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006191 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'automated metallic sheet bending device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Dr. Gagan Jindal; Anand Dua; Dr. Sushil Kumar; and Dr. Saurabh Chaitanya.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated metallic sheet bending device, comprising a housing 1 mapped with a display panel 2 accessed by a user for providing input regarding dimensions/angles to bend a metallic sheet, a slidable tray 3 arranged with housing 1 for translating into/out of housing 1 via a slit 4, an imaging unit 5 for capturing surrounding images, a holographic projector 6 integrated on housing 1 for projecting a virtual marking, a pair of extendable plates 7 integrated on slit 4 to extend in a manner that sheet at projected marking gripped by plates 7, a pair of L-shaped telescopic link 8 integrated with a flap 9, arranged on upper and lower end of slit 4 for applying pressure over sheet to bend sheet, and an angle sensor mapped on housing 1 for monitoring bending angle of sheet."
