MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079877 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 24, 2023, for 'automated multi-angle cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Pradeep Kumar Jindal; Vinod Kumar; and Sajjan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated multi-angle cutting device, comprising of a body 1 configured with a pair of members 2 and a blade 3 to cut a workpiece as per a user's requirement, a touch enabled screen 4 to enter details regarding an angle at which workpiece is to be cut, a plate 5 imprinted with multiple angles, a motorized circular slider 6 to align a flap 7 with appropriate angle imprinted over sheet, an artificial intelligence based camera 8 in synchronization with an optical character recognition sensor to detect imprinted angle that accordingly activate circular slider 6 to align flap 7 at angle inputted by user, and a motorized scissor arrangement 9 paired with a motorized lead screw 11 as means of providing a to and fro motion to 10 links to move members 2 towards each other for moving blade 3 over workpiece."
