MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025574 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated needle threading device.'
Inventor(s) include M. Moni; Nitin Kumar; Nimra; and Neha Vashishta.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated needle threading device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface, user access touch enabled screen 2 is installed the platform 1 to give input commands for threading a needle, an imaging unit 3 mounted on platform 1 for detecting cloth type along with dimensions of hole on cloth that is to be stitched, a chamber 4installed on platform 1 and configured with plurality of U-shaped plates 5 stored with needles, a telescopically operated gripper 6 configured on platform 1 for gripping the needle and accommodating the needle in the cylindrical unit, plurality of spools 7 installed on the platform 1 with different size threads, a robotic arm 8 installed within platform 1 and with a cutter for cutting the unwrapped string, a pointed member 9 installed on the plate via a motorized sliding unit 10 for threading the needle."
