MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411009440 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 12, 2024, for 'automated newspaper laminating device for racks.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated newspaper laminating device for racks, comprising a cuboidal body 1 positioned to a fixed surface of a rack, a motorized omnidirectional wheel 3 for providing movement to body 1 on surface, a microphone 4 provide input voice command regarding insertion of newspaper inside body 1, a motorized hinge joint 5 actuated by microcontroller to expose opening, a pair of motorized clippers 7 and motorized sliding unit 8 actuated by microcontroller for gripping and translating clipper 7 for placing newspaper, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 9 capturing images of rack for evaluating 3D mapping of rack, a touch interactive display panel 10 for displaying evaluated mapping and also enabling user to specify a portion of rack that user desires to laminate, a motorized roller 12 rotating on its axis to unwrap adhesive tape for applying tape on newspaper, thereby successfully covering user specified portion with newspaper."
