MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012903 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated object sharpening device.'
Inventor(s) include Navdeep Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated object sharpening device comprises of a housing 1 positioned on ground surface and installed with touch enabled screen 2 for enabling user to give commands for placing objects, a motorized iris lid 12 to open for allowing the user to place the objects on a circular platform 3, a weight sensor positioned on disc for detecting objects, a DC motor for rotating disc, such that J-shaped member 4 results in transferring objects towards omnidirectional conveyer 5, a camera 6 mounted within housing 1 for detecting orientation of object on conveyer 5, multiple cuboidal units 8 installed with ring 7 via multiple rack and pinion gear arrangements 9 for translating units 8 to firmly grip object, a pair of motorized-omnidirectional roller translates and align sharp portion with blade 11 and a slider crank arrangement 10 for providing a reciprocatory motion to blade 11."
