MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011897 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'automated paper binding device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Tapas Kumar Mohapatra.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated paper binding device, comprises of a housing 101 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a chamber 102, a screen 103 to give input commands, a rod to extend for positioning a roller 104 over the papers, a platform 105 for collecting papers passed through slit, an imaging unit 106 mounted detecting dimensions of paper, a pair of flaps 107 installed via a pair of sliders for translating flaps 107 towards each other, a two-axis lead screw arrangement to align plate 108 over side portion of papers, plurality of pins for carving series of holes on papers, plurality of spools 111 wrapped with spiral strings, a gripper installed for passing the free-end through the series of holes to bind paper, a robotic arm 112 equipped with a motorized cutter 113 for cutting the spiral string."
