MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010755 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'automated pet handling device for four-wheeler.'
Inventor(s) include Gulista Khan; and Ajay Kumar Upadhyay.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pet handling device for four-wheeler, comprising a platform 1 developed to be installed on a ceiling of a four-wheeler, multiple suction unit 2 installed on platform 1 for adhering platform 1 on ceiling, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting presence and facial features of a pet in proximity to four-wheeler, a telescopically operated link 4 attached on platform 1 via a motorized sliding unit 5 to translate link 4 towards pets, followed by actuation of motorized roller 6 installed on link 4 to rotate for wrapping/unwrapping a leash 7 coiled on roller 6 towards pet, a bifurcated strap 8 arranged with electromagnet for securing grip over pet, an extendable L-shaped rod 9 attached on platform 1 for positioning a cushioned plate 10 to provide seat for pet, and a spring 11 attached in between strap 8 and leash 7 for absorbing any jerk experienced on four-wheeler."
