MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012493 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'automated pipe cutting device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Beemkumar Nagappan.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe cutting device, comprises of a platform 1 configured with multiple rods 2 placed on a ground surface, a motorized wheel 3 attached with each rod to move the platform 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to determine junction point of pipelines, an ultrasonic sensor to detect distance between platform 1 and the junction point, a first robotic link 5 configured with a motorized clamp 6 to grip the junction point, a motorized cutter 7 arranged with a second robotic link 8 to cut the pipeline, a nozzle connected with a chamber to dispense inflammable solution inside the pipe, a third robotic link 9 configured with a flame thrower 10 to blow flame inside the pipelines and a robotic gripper 11 to remove the stuck portion out of the pipe."
