MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026185 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated plant uprooting and relocation device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plant uprooting and relocation device, comprising a housing 1 positioned over ground surface by means of motorized-omnidirectional wheels 2 to maneuver the housing 1, an imaging unit 3 installed over the housing 1 for capturing and processing images of surroundings, a display panel 4 installed over the housing 1 to exhibit 3-D mapping of surrounding to enable user to select a plant along with a location, a laser measurement sensor to monitor dimension of the plant, a L-shaped telescopic rod 5 installed over the housing 1 to position an extendable gripper 6 around the user-specified plant for accommodation, a robotic arm 7 installed over housing 1 to position a curved blade 8 for scooping out the plant from surface, a GPS module to determine path to reach user-specified location and accordingly relocating the user-specified plant within a chamber 9 arranged with the housing 1."
