MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011294 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'automated retractable bridge.'

Inventor(s) include Arun Kumar Pipersenia.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated retractable bridge, comprising an elongated platform 1 having first end 2 and second end 3, the first end 2 is affixed on a ground surface in proximity to a shore from where a bridge is to be laid, multiple plates 4 integrated on the platform 1 by means of multiple motorized hinge joint to tilt plates 4 in a manner to establish platform 1 across a water body, multiple electromagnets 6 integrated on second end 3 to affix second end 3 on other side of water body to stabilize established platform 1, multiple hydraulically operated rods 7 for establishing a railing on sides of platform 1 for aiding safe transportation of people/vehicles across platform 1, a radar sensor coupled with a microphone for detecting presence of any watercraft on water body, and an anemometer for monitoring velocity of air in surrounding of platform 1."
