MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088299 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'automated rice grains harvesting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Kamal Pandey.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated rice grains harvesting device, comprises of a housing 1 installed with a chamber manually plate with rice paddies, a touch enabled screen 2 accessed by a user to give input commands for threshing paddies to separate rice grains from paddies, a motorized iris lid 3 to open for allowing user to place the paddies within chamber, a telescopically operated gripper 6 to pick paddies and hold between a cylindrical member 5 installed on the platform 4, a slider crank arrangement configured between the platform 4 and member 5 equipped with an elongated members 7 to collect the grains into a container 8, a weight sensor container 8 for detecting weight of the rice grains collected within the container 8 and a computing unit for notifying the user to collect the rice grains from the container 8."
