MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023507 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated rim maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Dinesh Kumar Yadav.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated rim maintenance device comprises a platform 1 installed with a circular disc 2 via an L-shaped rod 3 accommodates a bent rim, a touch enabled screen 4 for user input, a laser acuity sensor for detecting diameter of the rim, an expandable pulley arrangement 5 integrated within disc 2 for increasing diameter of the disc 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 detects exact location of edge of the rim, a motorized hinge 9 configured between the wheel 7 and a bar 8 for tilting a grooved wheel 7, an electronic nozzle 10 attached with a chamber 11 for dispensing the solution on the rim, a first robotic arm 12 installed on the platform 1 for scrubbing the rim, and a second robotic arm 14 installed on the platform 1 and equipped with a welding unit 15 for welding the crack."
