MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005485 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'automated ritual thread winding device.'
Inventor(s) include Praveen Kumar; and Vikasdeep Mann.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ritual thread winding device, comprising a housing 1 having a touch enabled screen 2 accessed by a user to enter details regarding width of winding of thread, an artificial intelligence based camera 3 mapped on the housing 1 detects presence of user, a motorized hinge 4 installed in between a side of housing 1 and a flap 5 to create an opening, a U-shaped member 6 attached within housing 1 via a motorized slider 7 to translate member 6 out of housing 1, a speaker 8 notifies user for placing wrist over member 6, a cylindrical unit 9 installed over slider 7 which aligns it with member 6, a motorized clamp 10 grips end of thread, a motorized sliding unit 11 fabricated at inner surface for moving clamp 10 around user's wrist as means of winding thread over user's wrist in accordance with width required by user."
