MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017974 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'automated road surface maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Pradeep Kumar Shah.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated road surface maintenance device, comprising a cuboidal shaped housing 1 moved over road surface by wheels 3, a first 4 and second pedal 5 pressed by a user to control acceleration and braking of housing 1, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 determines any uneven edge on surface, a holographic projection unit 7 guides user in steering housing 1 towards detected edge by accessing a steering wheel 8, a steering assembly 9 steers housing 1 accordingly, an ultrasonic sensor mapped on housing 1 for detecting distance between housing 1 and edge along with size, a hydraulically operated L-shaped bar 10 positions a roller 11 over edge and after positioning of roller 11, a motorized cutter 12 attached with roller 11 cuts the edge followed by actuation of roller 11 for levelling of surface."
