MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018834 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'automated rock splitting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated rock splitting device, comprises of a body 1 developed to be placed over a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images, a touch interactive display panel 3 for displaying captured images, multiple motorized track wheels 4 for maneuvering the body 1, a motorized scissor lift kit arrangement 6 for positioning a platform 5 alignment with the rock, a drilling unit 7 configured via a telescopically operated rod 8 for drilling a cavity in the rock, an ultrasonic sensor for determining the dimensions of the rock, a motorized dual axis lead screw arrangement 10 for positioning an extendable L-shaped pole 9 in proximity to the cavity, a hydraulically operated elongated structure 11 to be inserted within the cavity, and multiple hydraulically operated circular fittings 12 for applying internal force on the rock for splitting the rock."
