MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010749 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'automated rope bundling device.'
Inventor(s) include Amita Sharma; and Amit Kumar Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated rope bundling device comprises of a housing 1 configured with at least four rods 2 that provides support to the housing 1 on a ground surface, an opening 3 is crafted on the housing 1 to place a free-end of a rope that is required to be bundled, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 mapped within the housing 1 for determining placement of the rope, a robotic gripper 5 arranged inside the housing 1 for gripping and pulling the rope inside the housing 1, a laser sensor arranged on the opening 3 for detecting presence of a knot on the rope, a pair of robotic arms suspended from ceiling of the housing 1 for gripping and untying the knot, and a pair of motorized calendar rollers 6 arranged adjacent to the opening 3 to rotate in order to pull the rope inside the housing 1."
