MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026113 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated sandwich preparation device.'

Inventor(s) include Pramod; Rohit; Kuldeep; Mehak; and Rijul.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sandwich preparation device comprises of a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a chamber 2 installed with plurality of extendable plates 3 for storing multiple bread slices, a touch enabled screen 10 is installed on the housing 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for preparing a sandwich along with selecting type of butter and toppings to be utilized, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted within the housing 1 for detecting presence of the slices on the platform, a telescopically operated gripper 5 installed within the housing 1 for gripping and positioning the slices, a cylindrical hollow member 6 installed at a ceiling portion configured with a ceiling portion of the housing 1."
