MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012971 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated sheet cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Jasneet Kaur.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sheet cutting device, comprises a platform 1 configured with a motorized rotatable cylindrical member 2 via a telescopic L-shaped link 3 to position a sheet roll, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to determine roll dimension,, an expandable pulley configured in the member 2 to position the member 2, a pair of curved expandable plate arranged over the platform 1 to restrict opening of the roll, a primary motorized sliding unit 6 integrated between plate and platform 1 for translation of the plates 5, a pair of grippers 8 arranged on the platform 1 to grip sheet, a secondary sliding units 9 for translation of the grippers 8, a laser measurement sensor to monitor length of the sheet, a two axis lead screw arrangement 10 configured with a motorized blade 11 to cut the sheet, and a magneto inductive sensor to determine material type of the sheet."
