MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025986 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated shoe stretching device.'

Inventor(s) include Sarita Simaiya.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated shoe stretching device comprises of, a wedge-shaped member 1 accessed by a user to position the member 1 in a leather shoe that is to be stretched, a microphone is installed over the member 1 to receive voice command of the user regarding stretching of the shoe, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 2 installed over the member 1 to determine dimension of the shoe, a hydraulic rod 4 installed over the member 1 to extend and position a plate 3 configured with the rod 4, a flap 5 configured with the rod 4 by means of an inverted L-shaped bar to position the flap 5, a pair of hydraulic pusher installed over lateral sides of the member 1 to apply a regulated amount of pressure."
