MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024078 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated snow clearing device for ground surfaces.'

Inventor(s) include Mir Owais Yaseen; and Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated snow clearing device for ground surfaces comprises of, a body 1 developed to be arranged on a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to monitor surrounding of the body 1, multiple motorized wheels 2 to move the body 1 on the surface, an extendable rod 4 to extend/retract for positioning end of the rod 4 at an optimum distance ahead of the body 1, a vertical actuator 5 to provide thumping movement against the surface in view of breaking snow deposited on the surface, an ultrasonic sensor t for determining width of a lane on the surface that is to be cleared, a drawer arrangement to extend/retract for covering the determined width of the lane, a motorized hinge joint to provide converging/diverging movement to the plates 6, and a blade 7 in view of removing loosened snow deposited on the surface."
