MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018163 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated spark plug repairing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated spark plug repairing device, comprises of platform 1 arranged with a container 2 that is accessed by a user for accommodating a spark plug, an imaging unit 3 to determine positioning of the accommodated spark plug, a robotic arm 4 to grip the spark plug and engage the gripped spark plug onto a motorized chuck 5, electric ignitor 6 for heating the plug in view of melting any accumulated oil/grease fabricated on the spark plug, a telescopically operated rod 7 integrated with a brush 8 to perform cleaning of the spark plug, a spark plug gauge 9 for measuring internal dimensions within the spark plug in order to determine any internal damage of the spark plug, and multi-meter 11 integrated with multiple electric wires via a current distributor arranged on the platform 1 for detecting initiation of sparks from the sparkplug."
