MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012443 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'automated staircase cleaning system.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated staircase cleaning system, comprises of a computing unit associated with the system that is accessed by the user for giving commands for cleaning a staircase, plurality of electronic nozzles 1 connected with a chamber 2 for dispensing a cleaning solution on the steps of the staircase, plurality of cameras 3 for capturing multiple images of the steps of the staircase, plurality of electronic valves 4 connected with a vessel 5 stored with water for spraying water and rinse the staircase, a rectangular member 6 configured via pair of motorized sliders 7 for preventing the flow of water/cleaning solution towards the individual, a speaker 8 for recommending the individual not to use the staircase, a receptacle 9 for storing the water and cleaning solution that tickles down to the bottom of the staircase, and an inflatable unit to prevent leakage of water."
