MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024853 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated sugarcane sowing device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shivani Vij; Hardik; Aman Choudhary; and Raghav Pathania.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sugarcane sowing device, comprising a body 1 positioned on a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 to provide input regarding sowing of sugarcane stalks on surface, a storage chamber 3 stored with sugarcane stalks, a motorized lid dispenses stalks on a pair of plates 4, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 monitors distance of plates 4 from surface, a motorized hinge joint 5 provides tilting movement to plates 4 towards back portion of body 1, a V-shaped structure 7 accommodates dispensed stalks, a motorized pivot joint 8 tilts portions of structure 7 for dispensing accommodated stalks in sides of structure 7, a pair of flaps 9 arranged on lateral sides each by means of an extendable link 10 for filling soil for covering dispensed stalk within soil in order to sow sugarcane stalks in surface."
