MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020741 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated thread wrapping device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Satish Kumar; Dr. Rahul Mehra; Raghav Chawla; and Ranbir Kalia.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated thread wrapping device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over fixed surface and configured with T-shaped body 2, multiple spools wrapped with threads, touch interactive display panel 3 to enable user to provide input regarding requirement of thread and color of thread, AI-based imaging unit 4 to capture images of spools, conduits 5 for accommodating free end of thread, motorized sliding unit 6 to provide translation to a motorized expendable shaft 7 below the spool, robotic gripper 9 to withdraw reels, multi-sectioned chamber 10 for storing reels, expendable pulley arrangement 11 to expand/retract the shaft 7 near the inner portion of the reel, pneumatic link 8 extends to position reel at appropriate height, shaft 7 for wrapping thread over reel, motorized cutter 12 to cut the thread, container 13 for storing reel and a speaker 14 to alert user regarding exceeded temperature of the shaft 7."
