MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025419 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated tin sheet maintenance device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tin sheet maintenance device comprises of, a housing 1 positioned on a tin sheet, a touch enabled screen 2 is installed on the housing 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for carrying out maintenance of the sheet, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 mounted on the housing 1 for detecting cracks and dents on the sheet, a telescopically operated gripper 4 installed on the housing 1 for unwrapping a suitable length of a tape from a spool that is installed on the housing 1, a motorized blade installed in proximity to the spool for cutting the unwrapped tape, an L-shaped telescopically operated pusher 5 installed on the housing 1 for applying a force to eliminate the dent, a circular disc 6 configured with the platform via an L-shaped telescopically operated rod 7."
