MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026013 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated tire dismantling device.'

Inventor(s) include Ranvijay Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tire dismantling device, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, an imaging unit 2 installed on the body 1 to determine positioning of a tire, a vertical support 3 arranged on the body 1 and integrated with a disc 4 to support the tire on the body 1, a pair of plates 5 mounted on the body 1 for securing the tire, a grinding blade 6 integrated on the body 1 to perform cutting of the tire, plurality of motorized rollers 7 integrated underneath the body 1 for rotating the tire to ensure complete exposure of entire surface of the tire and a motorized winch 8 arranged on the support 3 accessed by a pair of motorized grippers 9 installed on the body 1 to grip a tape coiled on the winch 8 and adhere the tape over surface of the tire."
