MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010121 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated tool sharpening device.'

Inventor(s) include Rupal Gupta; and Arun Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tool sharpening device comprising, a frame 1 having a first portion 2 is arranged with a handle 4 that is accessed by a user for gripping, a curved plate 5 arranged on second portion 3, an imaging unit 6 integrated with a processor for capturing surrounding image, a grid 7 having multiple horizontal and vertical motorized sliding units mapped on the plate 5, multiple sets of grinding units 9 to get arranged on grid 7 for grinding the tools, and a speaker 10 integrated on the frame 1 to produce audio notification to guide user for inserting tool."
