MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022920 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 23, 2024, for 'automated tree stump uprooting device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tree stump uprooting device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface being configured with multiple wheels 2 for maneuvering the platform 1, a touch enabled screen 3 accessed by a user to input commands for uprooting a tree stump, an imaging unit 4 to detect exact location of the tree stump, a robotic arm 5 configured with a wedge-shaped blade 6 to cut the roots, a C-shaped extendable motorized clamp 7 installed with the platform 1 via a telescopically operated rod 8 to grip the tree stump and a triangular-shaped member 9 configured with the platform 1 via an L-shaped telescopically operated bar 10 to exert force over the tree stump in order to uproot the tree stump."
