MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018203 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated tree trunk removing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tree trunk removing device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 configured with a C-shaped member 2 positioned on a ground surface in proximity to a tree trunk, a laser measurement sensor mounted on member 2 for detecting dimension of trunk portion, a sliding arrangement 4 positions member 2 around trunk portion, a drawer arrangement 4 integrated on member 2 to expand/ contract member 2 for gripping trunk portion, a motorized slider 5 installed on inner periphery of member 2 for translating a blade 6 around trunk portion for carving bark portion, a robotic link 7 installed on body 1 for inserting a wedge shaped plate 8 between bark portion for removing bark portion, and a motorized chain- saw 9 installed on body 1 for cutting trunk portion, in order to eradicate trunk portion as desired by the user."
