MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088280 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'automated utensils cleaning device.'
Inventor(s) include Sehaj; Dr. Ashish Sharma; and Rinku Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated utensils cleaning device includes a housing 1 placed with different utensils to be washed, a computing unit 2 accessed by a user to input regarding washing of utensils accordingly a microcontroller activates multiple infrared sensors 3 for detecting height of utensils and accordingly activates multiple sprinklers 4 for dispensing water to submerge utensils for pre-set time duration, multiple primary suction pumps 6 actuates for draining out water and transfer to a water filtration unit 7 for filtration of water, multiple heating units 9 for melting leftovers present on utensils that are withdrawn by multiple secondary suction pumps 10, multiple microwave emitters 11 and ultraviolet wave emitters 12 activates for emitting microwaves and ultraviolet waves for disinfecting utensils, an imaging unit 13 for verifying appropriate cleaning of utensils and accordingly actuates multiple fans 14 for drying utensils that is monitored by multiple moisture sensors 15 for notifying user accordingly."
