MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018823 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'automated waste collecting device.'
Inventor(s) include Shambhu Bharadwaj.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated waste collecting device, comprises of a semi-cylindrical shaped extendable body 1 positioned over a ground surface, an elongated rod 2 to maneuver the body 1 over the surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for determining the type of surface, plurality of perforations 5 crafted to sieve the sand, a microphone 6 to receive voice input of the user regarding sieving of the sand, plurality of pneumatic pins 7 to dig into the sandy surface for aiding in transferring of the sand within the body 1, a speaker 8 to notify the user regarding living being/obstacles in the path of the body 1, an extendable plate 9 for collecting the waste from the plain surface, a motorized ball and socket joint 10 to provide multidirectional movement to the rod 2."
