MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024899 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated waste-leaves collection device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated waste-leaves collection device, comprising a pair of semicircular frames 1 developed to be positioned in proximity to a tree, an imaging unit 2 to determine dimensions of trunk of the tree, a drawer arrangement 3 integrated in the frame to increase/decrease dimensions of frames 1 for enabling a user to accommodate the frames 1 around the trunk, plurality of electromagnets 4 are arranged on ends of frame for engaging the frames 1 together in view of securing the frames 1 on the trunk of the tree, an anemometer 5 for determining windy weather conditions in surroundings of the tree, an inverted canopy-like structure 6 is arranged on lower periphery in a manner that falling leaves are collected on the structure 6 and a vibrating unit 7 to produce vibrational sensations for gathering the collected leaves at one position on the structure 6."
