MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020661 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated wheel chock device.'
Inventor(s) include Tarun Kr. Sharma; R. P. Agarwal; Vinod Kr. Rathi; and Vijay Maheshwari.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wheel chock device, comprising a body 1 coupled with a pair of right angle triangular shaped members 2 to be positioned over a ground surface, multiple motorized wheels 3 to maneuver body 1 over surface, a camera 4 to capture multiple images of surroundings for detecting position of a vehicle standing in proximity of body 1, multiple links 5 pivoted with each other in a crisscross manner installed in between member to increase/decrease gap in between member in accordance with dimension of wheel, multiple plates fabricated via multiple motorized sliders for expanding/contracting dimension of sides to allow members 2 to accommodate wheel in accordance with width of wheel, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated rods 6 attached at each side of each of the members 2 to extend towards each other, and multiple electromagnets to magnetize rods 6 as means of locking members 2 with each other."
