MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023600 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated wheel rim polishing device.'

Inventor(s) include Karishma Das; and Dr. Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wheel rim polishing device, comprising a housing 1 positioned over ground surface, telescopic rod 3 for regulating height of the housing 1, AI based imaging unit 4 for determining location of wheels 2 rim for polishing, omnidirectional wheels 2 to maneuver and position the housing 1 in proximity to detected wheel rim, motorized expandable pulley arrangement 6 to provide extension/retraction to a motorized expandable disc 5 as per detected diameter, telescopic buffing pads 7 for applying evaluated pressure on wheel rim, motorized expandable disc 5 to conduct polishing over wheel rim, telescopic bars 8 extend for positioning a suction unit 9 in contact with tire of the wheel, suction unit 9 to secure housing 1 with four wheeler, chamber 10 for storing lubricating solution, electronic nozzle 11 to spray lubricating solution over wheel rim to perform polishing and a speaker 12 to alert user regarding any detected corrosion."
