MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024721 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated wool grading and segregating device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Kanchan Kumar Singh; and Rajesh Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated wool grading and segregating device, comprising a housing 1 with an opening positioned over a fixed surface, an omnidirectional conveyor 2 is installed within housing 1 to receive wool, a touch interactive display panel 3 installed over housing 1 to enable user to provide input regarding grading of wool, an imaging unit 4 installed over the housing to determines the positioning of wool over conveyor 2, a robotic clamp 5 installed within housing 1 to grasp a small amount of wool and position over a platform arranged within housing 1, a pair of robotic grippers 6 installed over platform to grip ends of one thread, a sensing module installed over grippers 6 to monitor length and strength of thread to evaluates grade of wool, a multi-sectioned chamber 7 arranged in continuation of conveyor 2 to accommodate sorted wool."
