MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018221 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated workpiece trimming device.'

Inventor(s) include Kul Bhushan Anand.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated workpiece trimming device, comprises of a cuboidal shaped body 1 developed to be positioned over a workpiece, a handle 2 for providing grip to the user while handling the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed for generating a 3D map of the workpiece, a touch interactive display panel 4 accessed by the user to input details regarding a portion of the workpiece that is required to be trimmed, holographic projection unit for projecting a holographic image on the workpiece, multiple blades 6 attached with each of the pneumatic actuators 5 for trimming the workpiece, a speaker 7 to notify the user to move the body 1 in a linear motion, a motorized hinge joints 8 for adjusting angle of the blade, a receptacle 9 for collecting the wood dust and residues."
