MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024894 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated zigzag metallic strip making device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated zigzag metallic strip making device, comprises a platform 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a plate 3 is accessed by a user for positioning a metallic strip that is be reformed into zigzag manner, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 detects dimensions of strip, a pair of motorized sliding units 5 translates a pair of inverted V-shaped members 6 at an optimum position, a motorized circular slider 7 arranged on platform 1 positions a pair of flaps 9 integrated on bar 8 in contact with strip, a hydraulic actuator for applying a pressure on the strip in order to bend the strip for making a zigzag pattern, and a robotic gripper 10 for changing orientating of the strip."
