MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511133796 A) filed by Chitkara University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'automatic domestic gas pipeline meter system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramamani Tripathy; Rohit Verma; and Dr. Hakam Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automatic domestic gas pipeline meter system, comprises of a meter housing 101 operatively connected to a domestic gas pipeline, a sensor suite 102 to monitor real-time gas leakage, pipeline pressure, and environmental conditions, a fail-safe actuator valve 103 operatively coupled to pipeline configured to automatically close gas supply upon detection of gas leakage, a pipe engagement assembly comprising a plate 104, a two-axis lead screw arrangement 106, and a telescopic rod 107 equipped with a clamping unit 108 configured to automatically engage gas pipe 109 from the housing 101 with a stove inlet nozzle 110 thus securing a leak-proof connection, and an imaging unit 111 for monitoring surrounding environment and an embedded microcontroller operatively commands the actuator valve 103 to close automatically to maintain safe conditions, and an alert unit to present real-time safety warnings derived from sensor suite 102 and imaging unit 111."
