MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013458 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'automatic tissue dispensing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automatic tissue dispensing device, encompasses a platform 1 supported by multiple rods 2 on the ground with platform 1 featuring a slot 3 for placing tissue bundles, equipped with a weight sensor to detect bundle placement, pair of telescopic plates 4 secure the bundle, while an inverted L-shaped telescopic bar 5 positions a motorized clip 6 over the bundle, an integrated microcontroller activates the bar 5 to insert tissues into a cylindrical member 7 on the platform 1, an AI-based imaging unit 8 inside the member 7 confirms tissue insertion as a motorized slider 9 with stacked flaps 10 compresses the tissues, and a microphone 11 enables voice commands, a pneumatic pusher 12 between the flaps 10 dispense tissues through an outlet in the member 7."
