MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125319 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'autonomous cleaning and detection system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Karmel A; and Kanimozhi G.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an autonomous cleaning and detection system (100) for solar panel surfaces (500). The system (100) may include a sensor module (102) configured to detect environmental parameters and structural parameters, and a camera unit (104) to capture visual characteristics of the panel surface (500). The system further includes a control unit (202) having a processor (302) and memory (304) storing instructions that, when executed, cause the control unit (202) to analyze the received sensor and camera data using a learning model (314) to identify defects and detect foreign material. Based on the analysis, the control unit (202) may determine the spatial coordinates of the identified defects and foreign material and activate a cleaning unit (106) to remove the detected material. The system (100) may further provide adaptive scheduling, remote monitoring, and real-time reporting to optimize maintenance efficiency and panel performance."
