MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611026219 A) filed by GNA University, Phagwara, Punjab, on March 5, for 'autonomous coastal rowing assistance system.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sumit Chopra; Gagandeep Singh Bains; Harpreet Kaur; Harpreet Singh; Harpreet Singh Cheema; Harsh Parmar; and Harsh Dadwal.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An autonomous coastal rowing assistance system, comprising of a buoyant body 101, a hydrodynamic hull 102 and an adjustable upper frame 103 structure for competitive rowing, a multi-seat arrangement to accommodate a plurality of rowers, a plurality of coastal rower assemblies to allow each rower to operate a rowing handle 106 for rowing, a control unit processes echo signals to determine distance, angle, and relative speed of detected objects and to validate detected objects through multi-angle confirmation, a GPS unit detects real-time location data of the body 101, evaluate predefined race routes, identify restricted or hazardous zones, and compute safe alternative navigation paths, a sensing unit monitors pitch, roll, tilt, and water wave characteristics, and to generate stability and speed adjustment signals, a stabilization tube 110 to automatically regulate air pressure for maintaining balance and stability of the body 101 under varying water conditions like high-wave or rough water condition."
