MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102882 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 25, 2025, for 'autonomous robotic ai drone tailor system for pixel-accurate textile printing.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Manik Rakhra; and Dr. Gargi Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for autonomous textile printing includes a drone platform (102) with multi-directional mobility, an AI-powered vision system (104) to scan and map fabric surfaces, precision printing nozzles (106) for pixel-level ink deposition, and a control unit (108) to synchronize motion and nozzle actuation. The AI vision system (104) analyzes fabric type, weave, and surface anomalies to guide printing accurately. The control unit (108) applies real-time error detection and correction for distortion-free output. Cloud integration allows uploading, scaling, and adaptive interpretation of digital designs. The system (100) supports diverse fabrics, horizontal, vertical, or multi-dimensional orientations, and multi-color or gradient printing. Autonomous operation reduces manual labor, minimizes resource usage, improves reproducibility, and enables scalable, on-demand, and industrial textile production efficiently and sustainably."
