MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414092339 A) filed by KS 22 SA, Meyrin, Switzerland, on Nov. 26, 2024, for 'ball hinge for silent operation.'
Inventor(s) include Bellay David; and Coullery Martial.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a hinge including a first element (2) and a second element (4), each element being intended to be fastened to a part to articulate one relative to the other, wherein the first element (2) includes a body provided with a male part (6) and the second element (4) includes a body provided with a female part (8) comprising two parallel flanges (10) in-between which the male part (6) is inserted, the male part (6) and the female part 10) being articulated relative to each other by means of an axis (16) wherein the body of the second element (4) includes a bore (36) crossing through and coming out between the flanges (10), wherein the second element (4) includes a ball (38) housed in the bore (36) and held in position in the bore (36) by means of a spring (34) housed in the bore (36), the position of the ball (38) being such that same protrudes between the flanges (10) and cooperates mechanically with the male part (6) of the first element (2), and wherein the second element (4) includes a cup (50) interposed between the ball (38) and the spring (34)."
