MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527072473 A) filed by Enchannel Medical Guangzhou Inc., Guangdong, China, on July 30, for 'balloon electrode catheter balloon electrode assembly and flexible circuit of balloon electrode assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Mo Zhidai; Huang Long; Chen Hao; Song Qing; and Feng Jun.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a balloon electrode catheter and specifically to a flexible circuit of a balloon electrode assembly in the balloon electrode catheter. The flexible circuit comprises an insulating substrate electrode plates and a trace wherein the insulating substrate is configured to be attached to a balloon of the balloon electrode assembly and has a bending degree that changes along with the inflation and deflation of the balloon; the electrode plates are fixed to the insulating substrate for generating a pulsed electric field; the trace is located inside the insulating substrate for connecting the electrode plates to corresponding circuits; and the trace comprises at least one branch trace the branch trace being arranged side by side with at least one electrode plate along an extended surface of the insulating substrate and being connected to another electrode plate such that electrical connection of corresponding electrode plates is achieved by means of the branch trace. Said solution is conducive to reducing the hardness of the flexible circuit such that the flexible circuit can deform more easily when subjected to resistance in the process of entering or exiting a sheath so as to avoid serious interference with the sheath thus making it convenient for the balloon electrode assembly to enter or exit the sheath."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 07, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/074771.
